Ok so today I thought I would post about something I've been thinking about recently. To me always being an artist I've come to love and appreciate "The Nude" as an art form NOT always as something that is about SEX! Our bodies are all beautiful whether you are thin or chubby, tall or short. We all have at least one part of our bodies we like.

Well as I've really gotten back into drawing I find myself looking at more figure drawing art. Not art of just an object but art done about the body. To me it can convey so much emotion! Angry, sad, frustrated, relaxed, lonely, horny. You name it! It can be show in our body language.

It's funny to wonder what people think. I know there are many out there who would see this and be appalled! But WHY? We all have bodies why is looking at them such a bad thing. I have a painting in my office that my hubby did in College. I love the colors and the flow of the lines. It's beautiful to me. But when people have come in my office I wonder...OH MY what will they think? I also have this really awesome poster I bought years ago of a bicycle ad. If I can find it I'll post it on here. My Artwork

Hi there,
For the first time ever I'm going to post some of my artwork on my blog....I've always done art but pretty much just keep it to myself. Last night I was having a bit of a night and plugged in my ipod and started drawing....these 2 drawings were the result!

The color is a bit off since I took a picture of them without using the flash so they seem a bit yellow. 6 months ago I was diagnosed with an Anxiety Disorder and sometimes when I'm feeling super stressed or anxious this is what it feels like in my head.

I've never used my art as an outlet to help with my anxiety before, so I was surprised last night when this came out. I was focused on the art and it helped me work through a rough patch.

Etta's Visit Part Two

So Etta has finally recovered from our long trip home from NJ. We had a fabulous time! Etta wanted me to fill you in on her adventures. We had a fun but long car ride down to NJ. It was about a 8 hour trip total including the stops we made along the way and the traffic we got stuck in. But Etta had fun with Tasha in the car. Tasha even shared her head phones with Etta after Etta was feeling a bit jealous and wanted to hear the stories Tasha was listening too.

Tasha even wrapped Etta in her blankie so she was comfortable on the ride down.

She enjoyed looking at lots of books with Tasha on the way down. Once we arrived she met all the animals that live at the house we stayed at. 3 dogs and 4 cats and a bunny! We made sure to keep her safe so she didn't become a chew toy for any of the animals.

Thursday we headed to the farm for the BIG Thanksgiving dinner. Etta was SO excited to see what a real Thanksgiving was like since she comes from England where they do not celebrate this holiday. She can't wait to tell her brother Treasure all about the foods she saw!

There were 2 big tables in the house FULL of yummy food and lots of family! Etta got to sit with Tasha who was so hungry she mistakenly picked up Etta and almost ate her for dinner!! EEEkkk!

This is one of the two tables full of family!

She couldn't believe all the yummy food! Sweet potatoes, corn, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, hot rolls with butter, stuffing, turnip, squash and so much more! She was very full at the end of the meal and asked if she could have a tour of the farm and it's critters. We were in much need of some exercise so we headed out for a walk.

Yes, I ate ALL of that food!!! It was yummy!

We didn't get far when Etta spotted some very large feathery things?? I explained to her those were chickens and that they lay eggs that we eat. She seems a bit nervous around them since they were everywhere! Tasha enjoyed feeding them and petting them.

Don't worry Etta they are friendly.

Then we headed over to the barn and Tasha showed her how to feed a cow some hay. Etta was so amazed at this BIG brown and white animal! The cow was very gentle and had a VERY BIG TONGUE!

I think Etta's favorite part of the farm was the tractor!! Tasha was very excited too they both played for quite a while on this one tractor. Tasha decided she needed to play in the BIG mud puddle so I had to rescue Etta so she didn't get muddy!

We headed out on the property for a wonderful walk and saw some amazing views. Etta and I spotted a very cool moss covered boulder and had to investigate! She started to get tired so she opted to ride along in my pocket for the rest of the walk.

She fell fast asleep on the ride home later that day and Friday told us how much she enjoyed her visit to the farm. Etta has become so close to our little family we will be so sad to see her go. She was truly a wonderful traveling companion and guest at our house. We can't wait to continue to follow her adventures around the world!

Etta's Visit PART ONE

Well Etta the Meerkat has officially arrived in Fremont, NH!

We are very excited about her visit...I'm posting a bit now and I'll post more when we get back on Sunday. We are headed to NJ for Thanksgiving so Etta will be at our BIG family Thanksgiving at a real dairy farm! We can't wait to show her around.

So when she arrived my daughter Tasha just fell in LOVE! They have been attached at the hip since. I brought Etta in to meet Tasha when she woke up from her nap...see photos to see her reaction. Etta was very excited to see there were MANY new friends in Tasha's big girl bed. She got to meet, Brown Bear, Mr. Snuggle Pants (the panda), Mrs. Snuggle Pants (other panda), Kitty, Giraffe, Mr. Maine Bear, and most importantly Puppy! They all seemed to get along great. Mr. Snuggles seemed to really take to Etta and I think Mrs. Snuggles got a bit upset!

Tasha then showed Etta the map on her wall. She showed Etta how far she had come to visit us. Tasha knows all about long travels since she was born in China. Etta was impressed that Tasha knew her map so well.

The rest of the night was spent playing games and meeting our kitties.

Etta was a bit home sick but Tasha made sure to give her lots of hugs and comfort her if she was sad. Today Etta is spending the day at work with me. So I can teach her all about Graphic Design!

My favourite colour on its own is turquoise, but I'm also loving the combo of teal and pistachio green at the moment.

I'd love to live in Barcelona; I've visited it several times and it just seems so bright and vibrant, the people are really friendly, and it's full of great art and architecture. The buildings designed by Gaudi especially fascinate me.

How do you enjoy spending your time?

Apart from making jewellery, I also make cards and read, particularly sci-fi and fantasy. I'm slowly crocheting granny squares to eventually make a blanket, and I'm having a go at weaving at the moment, on a kid's loom I got cheap on eBay. It fascinates me and has such a history behind it, which I'm enjoying learning along with how to weave.

What is your favorite piece from your shop?

This is a hard question, and the answer often changes each time I make a new piece. At the moment it's probably my Butterfly copper charm necklace.

Why?

I love copper, especially the warm colour of aged copper, and the butterfly charms are really cute. The green brings a touch of colour to it, and I think it's one of the most feminine and flirty pieces currently in my shop. And musical--the charms all chime tgether as it moves :)

What is your Favorite Etsy shop?

Another tough question! Picking just one of the amazing lampwork artists, ceramic artists or fellow jewellery-makers is difficult, so I'm going to be a bit partisan and choose Rhubarb http://fliss1984.etsy.com.

Why?

She makes gorgeous jewellery and I love her tidal range in particular. Her jewellery is unique and elegant, and very feminine. She's also a good friend of mine in RL and we share a table at craft fairs.

So here are my first two! I really love how they both came out.

The first one, while I was going through all the entries I kept finding these REALLY great peachy, green, purple colors. So I ended up using a bunch in my first Volume! I love how it came out! I ended up buying the card with the globe on it! HA!

For my second one I saw this super cool Bright Orange and Purple necklace! Then I found the really great Orange and Purple pin! How perfect...So I created this Vol. 2 Treasury using those 2 items as my inspiration. This treasury was just made today so feel free to stop by and see it in person!

In no particular order: “Stairway to Heaven” Led Zeppelin
“Trouble” by Cat Stevens (which never fails to make me cry)
Virtually ALL early Beatles songs – but if I have to choose, I’ll go with “And I love her”.

Here’s one with a silly reason – I used to have a compilation tape when I was a teenager, and one line of a song had stuck in my head for years, but I just had no idea who it was by (or the rest of it!)
I mentioned it one day to my son, long before I was computer literate – and he googled and downloaded it. It’s called “Fresh Garbage” by Spirit.
Last one: Wondrin’ Aloud by Jethro Tull – I saw them play that way way back in the early seventies!

What are your top 5 favorite movies?

Easier one! Harold and Maude (fab soundtrack by Cat Stevens)
Casablanca (We’ll always have Paris)

Wayne’s World and the new Star Trek film – I liked it even BEFORE it helped me sell lots of meerkats!

How do you enjoy spending your time?

Walking in the countryside with my husband, being with my grown-up kids in Brighton, knitting, reading – I’m not expensive to entertain!

It changes, but right now it’s either the Superhero set of Meerkats or the little pumpkin one.

Why?

I really like how they turned out, the pumpkin in particular looks so sweet as she gazes up hoping for treats!

What is your Favorite Etsy shop?

Too many to count! http://www.raisinlike.etsy.com has been a favorite of mine for a long, long time, I love her flutterbutts and was thrilled to find she liked my work too, so we were able to trade. I now have an Etsy Sales Fairy which works well as long as I remember to take her out for walks to recharge her magic.

I am happy to welcome Hibiscusmoon to my blog!

I am Hibiscus Moon, a 40 year old female, happily married to my first love. I'm also a complete and total science geek, childless but dogfull, pagan, love to have fun and love the beach.

I also have an obsession with crystals and stones, having this natural affinity and knowledge of their healing effects since a young child. Having taken several Master's level courses in Geology and now as a science teacher, I get to infuse my scientific knowledge with my metaphysical knowledge of stones and crystals. I truly enjoy collecting, working with, hand selecting my inventory as well as teaching others about Earth's natural gifts. I really look forward to helping my customers learn how to tune into the healing power of crystals and stones!

Do you have a Favorite color?

It seems to have been deep purple for the current decade, but it changes at times.

What would you say is your Favorite smell?

The smell of horses, horse stables, etc. I love it!!

What would be your Favorite place to live?

On the beach on Malolo Lailai of Fiji. Yes, definitely that.

It's wonderful for dissapating negative energy. It's large enough to do a really good job. And it's just simply so gorgeous in all it's deep coffee-colored glory.

This is my Very first Featured Artist Interview and I'm very excited!

So without further ado....here is Beth!

I am a graphic designer working at a university in Texas. In my spare time (what's that?) I enjoy drawing, painting, crafting and, of course, design!

Do you have a Favorite color?

Lately lime green, though I admit that changes with my mood at times.

What would you say is your Favorite smell?

I have many, but I think the thing I end up getting most often in perfume and candles is probably vanilla. It's sweet without being too much, and it reminds me of baking.

What would be your Favorite place to live?

If I could still live here in Texas but have the temperature go no higher than the mid 80s, I'd be perfectly happy. heh

How do you enjoy spending your time?

I like hanging out at home with my guy, Wes, and our puppies, but I'm also a big fan of going to the movies. Our big date nights are usually dinner and a movie either solo or with friends, and that's absolutely perfect to me. Beyond that, I spend way too much time online with communities, selling, play by email roleplaying, and World of Warcraft.

WOW the day's are flying by! I'm currently feverishly working on some Halloween totes for my Etsy store! I can't wait to post them. I've had some RARE time to work in my sewing room and I'm taking FULL advantage!!

On another note here are 2 treasuries I made this week. One was for the Etsy Treasury Teams Challenge called "Dream Vacation". So here is my version of my dream vacation!

This next treasury (below) was was inspired by this item by Mandizzle.

I thought today I'd share some photos of some of the quilts I've made in the past. I've only ever sold one of them. I usually make them for family and friends. Here are a few of them!

"MY TREASURY ADDICTION"

So here are a TON of my favorite treasuries I've created on Etsy. They are like "Mini" pieces of art. I'm addicted to creating them. I wanted to have them all in one place. I hope you enjoy browsing through them. You will notice one thing...I LOVE COLOR! I've also done a bunch of treasuries I call "Who wants to be in my Treasury?". I pick a color and have people post their items in that color and I choose from their shops, the ones I think would work well together.

This was the last treasury! I LOVE IT!! I got some wonderful comments on this one.

My Vintage ETTEAM Treasury!

This purple color one came out AMAZING I think! I asked the fun question "Who wants to be in my treasury??".

My first treasury for the Etsy Treasury Team. Which I joined for obvious reasons.

I thought it would be fun to do a treasury of treasures!!

This one I made for my Hubby who had his 40th Birthday in July. He loves music and guitars so I had to so a guitar one for him.

This was one of my favorites!!
Snow White takes a BITE!!

I usually don't do light colors so I picked peach and made myself try and things and ended up with this wonderful treasury! I was very happy with the result.

We own 3 cats, Moxie, Adonis and Striker. So needless to say I love kitty buddies!
I added my Moxie girl to this treasury when she was a kitten. Top left hand corner.

This treasury I worked VERY HARD on! I dedicated it to my daughter who was born in the beautiful country of China.

Hee Hee this was my VERY FIRST Treasury! I was SOOO excited to make it. Little did I know how addicted I would become!

Hello there,

You will need to be patient with me since this is my first venture into the blogging world. I own a company named Crazy Daisies Designs where I make and sell Tote bags and Accessories.

I love making bags and creating fun new looks and color patterns. For me sewing is an outlet, a place where I can go and be creative and be myself. I'm very meticulous and sewing is a great way to vent that need. I'm not big on patterns I love making up my own. So all of my items are created and designed by me! They came from my little head.
